We now need to touch on the sixth lesson in driving web traffic to your website.
6. Press Releases
A press release is similar to article marketing.
The premise is the same. Your write a press release concerning something that relates to your business, or an event that happened that you can tie back into what you are doing.
You then submit this press release to sites like http://www.PRweb.com
Or for free at:
http://www.express-press-release.com/
http://www.free-press-release.com
While the free press release sites give you exposure, PRweb.com is worth the little amount of money if you to drive traffic to your site.
There is the possibility that your press release could be picked up by some media company and included in the news, a magazine, or some other publication. It happens and when it does you get SERIOUS traffic.
But the more likely tactic to use press releases for is SEO for your main site and for “backlink” purposes. Because the larger press release sites are considered authoritative, having your link placed on thier website will raise your SEO on your website site.
When writing your press release do the same bum marketing method and find keywords that don’t have lots of competition that are related to your business.
Write the press release and include the keywords. Then submit it to press release publishing websites and bang. Your press release shows up on really high rankings in the search engines.
Make sure when you are writing your press release you write it a little different format from the articles.
You want it to be:
- Information based. Like you would normally expect to read a press release.
- You want to include your links or some way to drive the person where you want them to go WITHIN the body copy of the press release.
- You need to make SURE your keywords are in the title of the press release.
Follow those steps and you will be pumping out press releases which drive lots of targeted traffic back to your site.
