Twitter was a brand new concept when it was first introduced. It’s the platform that revolutionized traditional blogging and brought it into a new era. It brought the concept of micro-blogging into the forefront of Internet communications.

Rather than creating one long blog post per day, you simply create several small posts of one to two lines each. Instead of being a platform to discuss topics at length, it’s more of a tool for instant communication.

There are plenty of ways to make use of Twitter for your business. It just takes a little bit of creativity to formulate your own type of plan. Most people shouldn’t actually be trying to sell anything on Twitter.

Twitter doesn’t really give you enough space to try to get across any type of marketing message. Instead, it should be used to keep in touch with people and let them know you have things coming up. Then you can casually link to the project once it’s done and let
the sales page do the selling.

For example, a post like, “Buy my new blogging book. Click here” won’t work well because people will just ignore a post like that. What you need to do is entice them to click by offering something valuable. (then post the link)” People are more likely to download a free report, and you can then use the report to link to your money page.

to look for your posts.

• Apple releases news about its products via Twitter.

Those are just a few examples of how companies and individuals are using Twitter to keep in touch with their fans and customers. There are many more examples, and more people are jumping into the fray every day.
